The Start of Something Dashing
First off, let us introduce ourselves. We are Ben and Greg and we run Dashing Industries. We are 19 year old university students who have been friends for so long it makes us feel a bit ill. Ben studies Business and Entrepreneurship at university, and Greg studies Graphic Design and Advertising.
This all started as a dream, an idea that could help us understand, and put into practice our skills that we were learning. This was last summer. It became an obsession, it was all we would talk about. We would talk for hours about how when you wear a nice t-shirt, you feel content. We got out our favourite t-shirts and discussed what makes them so nice. We soon realised that there are three things we value more than anything in a t-shirt you treasure: quality, great design and exclusivity.
We were soon designing t-shirts that were ready to print. Every day we would tweak the designs, but one thing we wouldn’t ever consider changing was the quality of shirt it would eventually be printed onto. We approached our designs with a Darwinian attitude, as if they were fighting for survival to be stocked in our store. We let designs that we had worked on for weeks be deleted. This was because they did not fit into the Dashing Industries dream we had in our heads. This process of survival of the fittest amongst our designs kept going until very recently when we knew we had what we wanted.
We are getting to somewhere we want to be.
Now it is just a process of getting ink on shirts and getting our ideas made into reality.
